Let me introduce ourselves…
what can i say?
we’re a clitchet, high school sweethearts. way back in 1993 a girl met a boy and the rest is history. We’ve pretty much been Inseparable since.
We spent the first half of our 20s living much to responsibly, and pretty much missing out on our carefree youth. the second half of our 20s were spent desperately trying to conceive, and working hard. We bought and renovated two homes by the time we were 29. One of which, afforded us the means to travel cross country in 2005, before social media or google maps ruled the world. But As the market crashed we slowly watched everything we had built crash with it. there was no time to dwell… we had another chapter to write.
Our early 30s were spent rebuilding the life we had lost. Only this time we had a mini following us, Our miracle Rainbow baby. we were deep into the careers we had started in our 20s. Focused solely on raising our son, without much care to enter back into the life of renovation. just when we thought we’d be a trio for life - God gave us another Rainbow baby. Niki quit her career of 18 years to raise our family, let’s just say it was one of the hardest transitions of her life. Our late 30s were a whirlwind of parenthood. while our personal lives were being fulfilled there always seemed to be something missing.
In the fall of 2020; like many others, we found ourselves forced to confront the very things that just were no longer working for us. We for years had had a quiet dream that lurked in the back of our minds. but fear kept us from moving forward. Fear of failure, financial ruin, and the thought of starting over (yet again), was daunting. We were 41 after all, Looking ahead towards retirement… right?!
But Andy and I were never ones to settle for a life we weren’t excited to wake up daily too. So, we started talking about how we could make our dream come to fruition. We came up with a 6 month, 1 year, 3 year and 5 year plan. we had no money, no knowledge of what needed to be done, but we had google and faith in taking the first step (no matter how small).
Fastforward six months, in the middle of a global pandemic, Andy lost his job of 14 years, and our one income family found ourselves scrambling to stay alfoat… yet again. we had two options - find another job in the middle of the unknown post covid world, or take this as a blessing to follow the trail God laid out for us. We shoved a 5 year plan into 6 months, google became our best friend and Long stressful nights coincided with long stressful days. but some how our little dream began to build momentum.
In Februry of this year we were blessed enough to find a shop. We’re still learning everyday how to build our skills and run a business. and We have no idea where our mid 40s will lead us. but, we do know our preseverance will continue. To the next chapter we go…
